“Summer House” star Kyle Cooke took to Instagram on Thursday, April 2, to give fans a candid update on the current state of his cocktail company, Loverboy.
“All right, it feels kinda crazy to be making this video but it was always the plan based on this week’s episode,” Cooke began, explaining his intentions to provide a behind-the-scenes look at the challenges of running a small brand.
Cooke Opens Up to Fans
“And I have no control as to what happened this week but, you know, I did open up to Carl about the financial stress I’m under running Loverboy on this week’s episode of ‘Summer House,’ so my original plan was to kinda start touching on those challenges, give you guys the inside scoop,” he added.
Cooke shared that much of his time is spent behind a computer, working 10 to 12-hour days.
“I’ve relied a little too heavily on the show to give you guys a glimpse into entrepreneurship and running a small brand and some of the challenges we face in big alcohol,” he admitted.
Despite the pressures, he was humbled by the response from fans. “So now I’m like I wanna just first pause and thank you guys. This is the most amazing, most diehard, loyal community that anybody in my shoes could be a part of. There’s not a day that goes by that I’m not fortunate and blessed.”
Cooke also emphasized the team behind Loverboy, which is primarily made up of women.
“By supporting me, you are supporting my team,” he said.
He also highlighted the brand’s merchandise and non-alcoholic products, noting that he personally continues to not take a salary.
“I only have this brand because of you. I’m going to turn this thing around,” he assured fans.
Cooke Stunned Fans When He Revealed His Financial Struggles
During Season 10 of “Summer House,” Cooke revealed to Carl Radke that he had stopped taking a salary for about nine months to help keep Loverboy afloat.
“In the last six months, we’ve actually seen a decline in distribution, which means declines in revenue. So I stopped taking a salary at Loverboy to kind of prolong our cash reserves,” he told producers.
Since the news broke about his ex, Amanda Batula, dating co-star West Wilson, fans have shown an outpouring of support for Cooke.
Many have taken to social media to showcase purchases of Loverboy products, demonstrating the loyalty of the community that Cooke described as “diehard.”
Prior to Cooke’s message, his company shared how they are on the path to being sold out.
“Holy [expletive] you all literally sold out half of our drink stock?!! No words but thank you!” it wrote.
Through transparency and gratitude, Cooke continues to rally both his fans and his team behind Loverboy, promising to navigate the brand through its financial challenges while staying connected to the people who made it possible.
