Michelle Obama can’t get enough of the shows on Bravo!
The former first lady revealed in her Wednesday, July 30, episode of the podcast “IMO with Michelle Obama & Craig Robinson,” she is a fan of the reality TV network.
She told her guests that both her brother and husband, former President Barack Obama, tease her about her love of reality TV.
“The truth is that they razz me about my love of reality TV and theย Real Housewives. I watch it all โ all of it,” she said.
“Las Culturistas” hosts Bowen Yangย andย Matt Rogers were the guests for the episode alongside her brother Craig Robinson.
She’s Watching ‘Next Gen NYC’
Obama added that “culture is king,” as she talked about the shows.
She noted she just recently started to watchย “Next Gen NYC” which features the children of Bravo celebrities as well as a few new faces.
“I watched the first two episodes, and Iโm just like, โOh, theyโre starting the babies off early,'” she said.
Obama’s brother asked the group if the show actually has babies on it, which led Rogers to explain the show.
He said, “Theyโre really like the princes and princesses of Bravo, now seeing if theyโre worth their salt when the cameraโs fixed on them,” to which Obama added, “Right.”
Obama Compared Reality TV to Sports
While she gets teased for her love of the reality shows, she added how her husband and brother love sports. And she believes there are a lot of similarities.
She described the shows as a “sociological study.”
“Thereโs drama in sports,” she began. “If I listen to ESPN for an hour, itโs like watchingย ‘The Real Housewives of Atlanta.’ You know? Itโs the same drama, and theyโre yelling at each other, and they donโt get along.”
The 61-year-old continued to explain how its all the same.
“I mean,ย Stephen A. Smith, heโs just like every other talk show host,” Obama added. โI’m like, ‘What’s the difference?โ It’s just sociological drama. The fact that people over seasons of working together still canโt get along, they still have the same arguments โ and itโs not just women, but this happens in sports, too.”
Obama said she finds the whole concept fascinating, as there are castmembers who clearly do not get along but they continue to see one another.
“‘Why do you keep going to dinner together?’ It never ends well,” she questioned. “And donโt ever vacation with her, ever again, ever. And why canโt we figure out this room thing?'”
