Lala Kent paid tribute to her father, Kent Burningham, on the seventh anniversary of his death. On April 21, the former “Vanderpump Rules” star posted to her Instagram story as she honored her father in a special way.
Kent’s father was just 64 years old when he died in 2018. He was father to three children and two grandchildren at the time of his death. Since that time, Kent has given birth to daughters Ocean, 4, and Sosa, 7 months.
Lala Kent Previously Got a Tattoo in Her Father’s Honor
In her tribute post, Kent shared a throwback black and white photo of a small tattoo of the word “Dad” with a heart around it. The ink is on “Give Them Lala” founder’s arm. She captioned the photo with loving words about her father and how much her life has changed since his death.
“Seven years ago today I got the call that would change my world forever. Our hearts would never be whole again,” Kent wrote. “I was in the darkest place of my life. Leaned into drinking morning until I passed out. I simply didn’t know how to deal with the pain.”
“Today I’m sober with two daughters and a very beautiful life,” she continued. “That’s all my dad. I know he’s shedding his blessings on his family. Dad, you were the kindest, most incredible man I will ever know. It was a blessing to have you as my dad. We miss you and we love you.”
Lala Kent’s Father Died in a Tragic Way
Kent has spoken about her father’s tragic death in the past. According to BravoTV.com, the former “Vanderpump Rules” star previously revealed that her father suffered a stroke while driving and got into a car accident. Kent’s then-fiancé, Randall Emmett, called her to tell her about the tragedy. Burningham later died in the hospital one month after the accident.
Kent has paid tribute to her father many times since his death. In 2021, she commemorated his first birthday after she became a mother.
“My sweet dad – here we go, celebrating another birthday of yours without you here,” Kent wrote on Instagram alongside a photo of her dad in March 2021. “I’m a mom now… I know you know that. Ocean is beautiful. She looks like you through the eyes. I think I’m doing a pretty good job so far. I wish you could be here to see it. I know you have the best view of it all, but I can see you… and that’s all I want.”
“I miss you so much,” the new mom added. “Thank you for your unconditional love. I feel your blessings. I love you, dad. Happy Birthday.🎈”
