In 2011, a romantic comedy celebrating New Year’s Eve, aptly titled “New Year’s Eve,” was released in theaters. The film had a massive, star-studded cast, so let’s look at some of those talented cast members then and now.

Zac Efron

Zac Efron has been a heartthrob since he shot to fame with Disney’s “High School Musical” trilogy. His charm was also front and center in “New Year’s Eve,” where he played deliveryman Paul Doyle. Paul assists Ingrid, played by Michelle Pfeiffer, in achieving her New Year’s resolutions before midnight in exchange for tickets to a masquerade ball.

Today, Efron is just as suave as ever. His most recent film, “A Family Affair” on Netflix, gave Efron the opportunity to act alongside the iconic Nicole Kidman. He also has a couple of upcoming movies, including one with Will Ferrell, according to Deadline.

His brother, Dylan Efron, has recently become a star in his own right after winning “The Traitors” season three and competing on “Dancing with the Stars.”

Michelle Pfeiffer

In “New Year’s Eve,” Pfeiffer plays an unappreciated secretary who, after being denied a much-needed vacation, quits her job and sets out to complete a New Year’s resolution list. “New Year’s Eve” wasn’t the first time Pfeiffer and Efron worked together; in 2007, they both starred in the musical-movie “Hairspray.”

Pfeiffer looks as beautiful as ever today. She recently starred in the Amazon Prime Christmas movie “Oh. What. Fun,” where she got to show off her comedic chops.

Sarah Jessica Parker

Sarah Jessica Parker played Kim Doyle, Paul’s older sister. Kim, a divorced single mother, is struggling with her daughter’s decision to spend New Year’s Eve with her friends instead of with her.

Parker has barely aged at all since “New Year’s Eve” came out. While fans probably think of Parker from her time on “Sex and the City” and “The Family Stone,” her sharp acting skills are on full display in the recent HBO Max sequel show, “And Just Like That.” The show was recently canceled, but she’ll soon be seen in “Hocus Pocus 3,” although we don’t yet know the release date.

Jessica Biel

Jessica Biel played Seth Meyers’ wife, Tess, who’s about to have a baby on New Year’s. If she is the first in the hospital to give birth on the fateful day, she and her husband will win a cash prize. However, another couple is also competing.

This year, Biel starred in an Amazon Prime limited series called “The Better Sister,” about two sisters who, at different points, married the same man. Biel was also an executive producer on the series. She’s also filming a movie with John Cena, according to Collider.

Robert De Niro

Robert De Niro plays Stan, a man dying of cancer whose one wish is to see the Times Square ball drop one last time. Although De Niro is often thought of for his more serious roles, such as in films like “Goodfellas” and “Taxi Driver,” he’s also delighted audiences with his feel-good films. In addition to “New Year’s Eve,” De Niro starred in the Nancy Meyers film “The Intern” alongside Anne Hathaway.

De Niro has many upcoming projects, according to IMDb, proving that even aging can’t slow this titan down. Recently, he’s starred in a few limited series and even appeared in a sketch on “Jimmy Kimmel Live!”

Jon Bon Jovi

Jon Bon Jovi was an interesting choice for “New Year’s Eve,” considering he’s mostly a singer rather than an actor. His role, however, was that of musician Daniel Jensen, so Bon Jovi was actually the perfect casting choice. In the film, Daniel is performing at the Times Square New Year’s Eve party and trying to rekindle his relationship with his former fiancée.

“New Year’s Eve” was the last film or TV show Bon Jovi acted in, although he continues to perform in his own music videos. Recently, Bon Jovi welcomed a new member of his family: a daughter-in-law. Millie Bobby Brown, now legally Millie Bonnie Bongiovi, married his son, Jake, last year.

Abigail Breslin

In “New Year’s Eve,” Oscar-nominated actor Abigail Breslin played Hailey, Sarah Jessica Parker’s daughter, who would rather spend the evening with her friends and boyfriend than her mother.

Breslin has grown into a beautiful young woman since her time in “New Year’s Eve.” Most recently, she had a leading role in “Classified” alongside Aaron Eckhart.

“New Year’s Eve” is available to stream on Starz.
