The 52nd Annual American Music Awards took place last night, Monday, May 27. The event was held at the MGM Grand Garden Arena in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Rapper and actress Queen Latifah hosted the ceremony — the second time she has done so, having co-hosted with Tom Jones and Lorrie Morgan in 1995 — and it was as star-studded as ever.
The likes of Taylor Swift (eight), Morgan Wallen, Olivia Dean, Sabrina Carpenter, and Sombr (all seven), and Alex Warren, and Lady Gaga (both six) received the most nominations. Meanwhile, Bruno Mars, BTS, Cardi B, Huntrix, Katseye, Sombr, and Sabrina Carpenter walked away with the most wins (three each).
Perfomers on the night included Keith Urban, the Pussycat Dolls, New Kids on the Block, and Billy Idol.
As always, the American Music Awards’ red carpet (which was actually blue) was a “who’s who” of entertainment giants, with hundreds of photographs taken of the superstars in attendance.

Host Queen Latifah arrived on the red carpet in a stunning fur coat. She was accompanied by her son, six-year-old Rebel, who was making his red carpet debut.
Matt Rife
Comedian Matt Rife looked effortlessly cool in double denim on the red carpet. Rife presented the Breakthrough Country Artist award to Sam Barber.
Hilary Duff
Singer Hilary Duff, in a stunning figure-hugging silver dress, waved at photographers on the red carpet. Duff presented the New Artist of the Year award to Katseye.
Billy Idol
English singer Billy Idol looked as cool as ever in a black suit and pink shirt on the red carpet. Idol performed “White Wedding,” “Eyes Without a Face,” and “Dancing With Myself” with guitarist Steve Stevens at the event.
Karol G
Colombian singer Karol G crouched in a gorgeous black dress on the red carpet. She was nominated for three awards and won one, which was for Best Latin Album (“Tropicoqueta”). She also received the special International Artist Award.
Chrissy Teigen & John Legend
Model Chrissy Teigen and singer John Legend looked fabulous on the red carpet. Legend presented the International Artist Award and Best Latin Album to Karol G.
Busta Rhymes
Rapper Busta Rhymes exuded coolness in baggy black trousers, a white shirt, and shades on the red carpet. Rhymes presented the Artist of the Year award to BTS and performed with the Pussycat Dolls.
David Guetta
French producer and DJ David Guetta holding his Best Dance/Electronic Artist award on the red carpet. Guetta was also nominated for Collaboration of the Year for his track “Gone Gone Gone” with Teddy Swims and Tones and I.
Riley Green
Country singer Riley Green looked smart in his suit and cowboy hat on the red carpet. Green was nominated for Best Male Country Artist, performed his song “Worst Way,” and introduced Keith Urban to the stage at the event.
Ejae & Rei Ami of Huntrix
Huntrix members Ejae and Rei Ami looked stunning on the red carpet. Huntrix were nominated for three awards — Song of the Year, Best Vocal Performance, and Best Pop Song, all for “Golden” — and they won all three.
New Kids on the Block
1980s and 1990s boyband “New Kids on the Block” looked dapper on the red carpet. The group performed “You Got It (The Right Stuff)” at the event.
Nikki Glaser
Comedian Nikki Glaser looked beautiful on the red carpet. Glaser presented Best Rock/Alternative Song to Sombr for “Back to Friends.”
Hootie & the Blowfish
Rock band Hootie & the Blowfish cut distinguished figures on the red carpet. The group performed “Hold My Hand” and “Only Wanna Be With You” at the event, while vocalist Darius Rucker received the Veterans Voice Award.
Teyana Taylor
Singer Teyana Taylor looked gorgeous in a flowing purple dress with a thigh split on the red carpet. Taylor performed with Missy Elliott at the event. She was also nominated for the Best Female R&B Artist award.
Josie Stevens & Steve Stevens
Model Josie Stevens and guitarist Steve Stevens looked great on the red carpet. Steve Stevens performed alongside the aforementioned Billy Idol at the event.
Maluma
Colombian rapper Maluma looked suave on the red carpet. He performed his song “Tu Recuerdo” at the event.

Singer Paula Abdul looked extremely glamorous on the red carpet. She presented Song of the Year to Huntrix along with Jason Derulo.
Jason Derulo
Singer and Paula Abdul’s co-presenter Jason Derulo wore a stylish leather jacket as part of his all-black ensemble on the red carpet.
Stunna 4 Vegas & Monaleo
Rappers Stunna 4 Vegas and Monaleo made a fine pair on the red carpet. Monaleo won the Breakthrough Hip-Hop Artist award at the event.
Teddy Swims
Singer Teddy Swims opted for a bold look on the red carpet. His bluey-green suit included knee-length shorts. Swims performed his song “Mr. Know It All” at the event and was nominated for Collaboration of the Year with the aforementioned David Guetta and Tones and I for “Gone Gone Gone.”
Twenty One Pilots
Tyler Joseph and Josh Dun of musical duo Twenty One Pilots looked coolly casual on the red carpet. They performed their song “Drag Path” at the event. The pair also won the Best Rock/Alternative Artist award and were nominated in the Best Rock/Alternative Album category for “Breach.”
Sombr
Singer Sombr rocked an edgy, cool look on the red carpet. Sombr performed his song “Homewrecker” at the event. He was also nominated for seven awards and won three. The wins came in the Breakthrough Rock/Alternative Artist, Best Rock/Alternative Song (“Back to Friends”), and Best Rock/Alternative Album (“I Barely Know Her”) categories.
