With over 30 Hallmark movies under his belt, Brennan Elliott is hopeful there are plenty more in his future. The beloved actor has begun to step back into the spotlight after caregiving for his wife, Camilla Rowe, and adjusting to life as a single dad since her March 2025 passing, following an eight-year battle with gastric cancer.
After receiving a heartwarming reception from fans when he appeared at the Hallmark Christmas Experience in early December, Elliott met even more fans at Christmas Con, held in New Jersey from December 12 – 14, 2025. While there, he told EntertainmentNow he understands more than ever how powerful and comforting Hallmark movies can be for those going through hard times, and he’s now inspired to do more.
Brennan Elliott Says Making Hallmark Movies is an ‘Honor’
Elliott, whose last Hallmark movie was 2024’s “His & Hers” co-starring his dear friend Lacey Chabert, told EntertainmentNow on the Christmas Con red carpet that he made the trip from California to New Jersey to meet his fans, acknowledging that “they come from all over the world to meet us and talk about the films they like.”
Given that almost every Hallmark movie is shot in just three weeks, Elliott said the fast-paced cycle is always a whirlwind, so the actors don’t always know how well they’ve done portraying the characters and their stories in ways that will be meaningful for viewers.
“We do these in 15 days,” he explained. “We get, like, two takes (per scene). They’re really fast. So you don’t really understand the impact that some of these movies have.”
That’s why hearing directly from the fans about the movies that meant the most to them is important to the stars. Elliott explained, “You might have a lady that’s going through an illness or a gentleman that’s lost his job or there’s something wrong — they’re always going through something, and these movies always really help them get through whatever trial they’re going through.”
“It’s an honor to be able to do something, a character from a movie, that makes somebody feel good,” Elliott continued. “As I always say, you never feel bad after watching a Hallmark movie. It’s an honor. It’s an honor to make them. I’ve done 30 or 31 — I would rather do these the rest of my career ’cause they’re great, you know?”
Brennan Elliott Says He’s Learned That ‘There is Hope’ Amid Grief
Elliott, who’s raising the two kids he shared with his wife — 13-year-old Liam and 11-year-old Luna — also gave a bit of insight into his journey through grief during a panel discussion with Nikki DeLoach, his co-star in 2022’s The Gift of Peace.”
The movie is about strangers who meet in a grief group, and filming it was a powerful experience for DeLoach, who had recently lost her dad, and Elliott, who was dealing with his wife’s stage four cancer diagnosis.
Now nearly nine months after his wife’s passing, Elliott told the crowd of losing a loved one, “We’re all gonna go through it at some point. If you haven’t, you’re gonna go through it. You have to accept it, and you have to find your peace and your space, and just muddle through it.”
He said everyone who worked on “The Gift of Peace” was intent on showing viewers that “through grief, you can have hope — it takes time, but it does happen.”
He also sweetly turned to DeLoach and said, “this one carried me through the whole thing” and they embraced as the crowd applauded.
