During the first weekend of the 2025 Hallmark Christmas Experience, approximately 20,000 fans descended on Kansas City from November 28-30 to hear from and even meet some of their favorite Hallmark Channel stars. Audiences delighted in behind-the-scenes stories and funny on-set photos shared by nearly a dozen beloved actors, including Tyler Hynes, Robert Buckley, Andrew Walker, Rhiannon Fish, and Kimberley Sustad.
Many of the moments they shared were funny on-set memories from the last year, which inspired one fan to ask during a panel whether Hallmark had considered producing a “compilation of outtakes.”
The actors seemed totally on board with releasing their bloopers and “Christmas at the Catnip Cafe” star Paul Campbell assured the crowd there’s plenty to share. That begs the question: would it be so hard to turn those bloopers into a recurring show on the network?
Paul Campbell Says Sharing Outtakes is Up to Hallmark Channel: ‘Hallmark After Dark!’
During a panel hosted by Campbell called “Look Behind The Lens,” actors shared behind-the-scenes stories and photos from recent sets, including funny pics he presented of his “Three Wisest Men” co-stars Walker, Hynes, and Margaret Colin resting or looking at their phones in between scenes.
Toward the end of the panel, Campbell read aloud the fan-submitted question about sharing outtakes from Hallmark movie shoots and “what really happens” on the sets. The audience ooohed and aaahed with anticipation for his answer.
“We have been fighting for this for years because there are so many (outtakes),” Campbell said, as several of his colleagues onstage nodded their heads in agreement, including Walker, Britt, and Fish. Buckley offered a resounding “yes” to the request.
Campbell then said that although some stars have occasionally posted bloopers on social media, “that’s a network question.” The fan shouted that she’d love to see outtakes from the “Three Wise Men” trilogy, and Campbell replied, “We’ve got thousands.”
“It’d have to be highly censored,” Walker quipped, and Campbell added, “Hallmark Late Night, that’s what it is. Hallmark After Dark!”
We’d Love to See a Recurring Bloopers Show on Hallmark Channel
With Hallmark leaning more and more into the comedy of its rom-coms in recent years, some productions have shared bloopers via social media, as Campbell said, or with media outlets. In the spring of 2025, for instance, “Entertainment Tonight” ran a series of bloopers featuring Ashley Williams and Alison Sweeney as they filmed their pair of “To Barcelona” movies.
The network is also leaning into producing unscripted series like Jonathan Bennett and Melissa Peterman’s “Finding Mr. Christmas,” Tamera Mowry-Housley’s “Baked With Love: Holiday,” and even a one-hour holiday special hosted by Benjamin Ayres on December 6.
Combining it all — already-existing bloopers shared on an unscripted series with Hallmark superstars hosting — seems like low-hanging fruit for Hallmark Channel. The fans want it and the stars want it.
Imagine a format like “America’s Funniest Home Videos” with one or more of Hallmark’s hilarious stars ad-libbing as they watch and a crowd of fans laughing at each clip, just like they do at Hallmark Christmas Experience. Think of the archive of cutting-room-floor clips that must exist after so many years of making original roms-coms and series!
As for bleeping out some curse words, like Walker said they’d need to do? Hallmark Channel may not include them in its programming, but we’re all grown-ups here and can certainly allow for the possibility that its stars are humans who have funny knee-jerk reactions to mix-ups and mess-ups. Bring on the bleeped-out bloopers and hilarious outtakes in 2026 — we have a feeling it would be ratings gold!
