Andie MacDowell’s Daughter Margaret Qualley Splits from Husband Jack Antonoff After 3 Years of Marriage: Report

Margaret Qualley and Jack Antonoff have parted ways after getting married almost 3 years ago on August 19, 2023, People reported on Wednesday, July 8.

The pair previously sparked breakup rumors after Qualley was absent from Taylor Swift’s wedding, which Antonoff attended without her. Antonoff has been a close collaborator of Taylor’s for several years, contributing to the writing and producing of some of her most acclaimed albums including “1989” and “Folklore.”

Qualley, the 31-year-old daughter of “Groundhog Day” star Andie McDowell, has become a star in her own right. She found major success in projects such as “The Substance,” for which she earned a Golden Globe for Best Supporting Actress. She also starred in Netflix’s miniseries “Maid,” which received rave reviews.

In a Harper’s Bazaar Australia interview back in October 2023, a couple of months after her wedding to Antonoff, Qualley shared some rare comments about her relationship and called the musician “my person.”

She reflected on how the beginning of their relationship was the first time she’d slowed down enough to set up a fully furnished home, laughing about her past string of small apartments with “a mattress on the floor and an Ikea lamp” because she was so dedicated to her movie career.

At the time, Qualley looked to a future with the 42-year-old, saying, “I just want to do everything with Jack,” before adding, “One day I want kids, and Iโ€™m not there yet, and I want to keep doing movies. And thatโ€™s about all I know.”

She seemed to consider the marriage ideal at the time, saying, “And itโ€™s real. Itโ€™s amazing. Itโ€™s the best feeling in the world. Iโ€™m so excited and so at ease all at once.”

People Was the First Outlet to Confirm the Split

People revealed in July 8 exclusive that a source confirmed Qualley and Antonoff’s separation. The pair’s wedding took place on Long Beach Island in New Haven New Jersey, and was swarmed by Swifties hoping to catch a glimpse of their idol after they learned she’d be a guest. Hundreds of her fans lined the streets surrounding the Black Whale Bar & Fish House, where the rehearsal dinner was taking place.

The People report says a source called the relationship “rocky” and said the ex couple is “figuring things out.”

The outlet points out that Antonoff, who headlines a band called Bleachers, is currently on tour, while Qualley is prepping for her upcoming role the Parker Finn directed remake of the 1981 horror hit “Possession.”

Deadline she will star in the film alongside Paul Dano, who is known for “The Batman” among other projects.

Margaret Qualley Previously Seemed Annoyed by Taylor Swift Question in an Interview

Qualley made headlines for seeming less than enthusiastic when she was pressed for information about Taylor Swift’s album during an ET interview last year, which is understandable considering she’s been frequently inundated with questions about the A-lister since getting together with Antonoff.

When the reported mentioned Taylor had an album coming out and asked, “Can you tell us anything about it?” Qualley said through clenched teeth, “I don’t know anything. But we’ll all be excited to listen to the music,” before seeming to laugh and shake her head in disbelief that the interview was starting off with this question.

Considering Qualley’s accomplishments, there’s plenty more to ask her about than Taylor Swift. Along with starring alongside Demi Moore in 2024’s “The Substance” which earned multiple Oscar nominations, she made a major splash with the miniseries “Maid,” which received three Emmy nominations.
