Hallmark fans have plenty to look forward to this January with the return of the network’s “Winter Escape” event, featuring a selection of sun-soaked movies filled with plenty of romance and adventure, offering fans a welcome break from the chilly winter weather.
The lineup kicked off with the premiere of “Lost in Paradise” on Saturday, January 3, 2026, followed by “A Melbourne Match” on Saturday, January 10, 2026, “Love on the Amazon” on Saturday, January 17, and continues with the highly anticipated “Caught by Love.”
The film follows resort guest Annie (Rachael Leigh Cook), who, while on a journey of self-discovery, gets swept into an undercover investigation for stolen jewels that turns into an unexpected and adventurous romance. Luke Macfarlane plays private investigator Jake.

Meet the Cast: Rachael Leigh Cook as Annie
HallmarkAccording to her Hallmark bio, Cook began her career in entertainment at the age of 15 and has since gone on to showcase her diverse talents, developing and appearing in numerous projects for both television and film.
Most recently, Cook was seen in Netflix’s “He’s All That,” a gender-swapped remake of her 1999 hit romantic comedy. In 2020, Cook pitched, produced and starred in the Netflix film “Love Guaranteed” opposite Damon Wayans Jr. and Heather Graham, which premiered to the streaming platform’s #1 spot. She developed and headlined the highly rated film “Cross Country Christmas” for Hallmark Channel. She also developed the concept for the Netflix film “A Tourist’s Guide to Love,” in which she produced and starred in.
Cook has also voiced and appeared in multiple television projects; notably as Kate Moretti, the female lead in fan favorite “Perception,” “Psych,” “Criminal Minds,” “Liza on Demand,” and the Steven Spielberg produced mini-series “Into The West.” She regularly lends her voice to “Robot Chicken” and the “Final Fantasy” video game franchise. Cook has also starred in feature films “Get Carter,” “Nancy Drew,” “A Midsummer Night’s Dream,” and “11:14.”
Meet the Cast: Luke Macfarlane as Jake
HallmarkAccording to his Hallmark bio, Macfarlane can be seen in the Netflix feature, “Single All the Way,” and he also appeared in the independent film “Lone Star Bull.” Known for his memorable role on the hit ABC series “Brothers & Sisters,” Macfarlane was previously seen in television leading roles in the Syfy series “Killjoys” for five seasons, in both seasons of the PBS critically acclaimed series “Mercy Street” for Scott Free productions, FX’s “Over There,” “Smash,” “Satisfaction,” and “Supreme Courtships.”
Macfarlane made his feature debut in Bill Condon’s “Kinsey.” In theatre, he has appeared on Broadway in “The Normal Heart” and off-Broadway in plays including “The Busy World of Hushed,” “Where Do We Live,” and “Juvenilia.”
In 2022, Macfarlane starred in the romantic comedy “Bros,” opposite Billy Eichner and can also be seen in the 2023 Apple TV+ series, “Platonic,” in which he co-stars with Rose Byrne and Seth Rogen.
Macfarlane’s most recent credits for Hallmark include “Notes of Autumn,” “A Magical Christmas Village,” “Moriah’s Lighthouse,” “A Valentine’s Match,” “Chateau Christmas,” and “Taking a Shot at Love” for Hallmark Channel as well as “Christmas in My Heart” for Hallmark Movies & Mysteries.
