In a past interview with Us Weekly, Norris shared that he was actually the voice behind Walker, Texas Ranger’s opening track, “The Eyes of a Ranger.”

“[Fans] might not know I actually recorded the opening song for my television series Walker, Texas Ranger,” he revealed. “I wanted Randy Travis to sing the theme song, ‘The Eyes of a Ranger,’ but CBS insisted that I had to sing it.”
The unexpected decision pushed Norris far outside his comfort zone.
Known for his stoic on-screen presence, the actor admitted the recording process wasn’t exactly easy.
According to Norris, it took him two full days in the studio to complete the track, which he described as being delivered in a unique style.
He explained that he had to “rap in the style of Johnny Cash,” blending spoken-word elements with the rugged tone of the show.

“CBS was so excited that they booked me at Billy Bob’s in Fort Worth, Texas, on New Year’s Eve to perform it live,” he said.

“There is an old saying that every singer wants to act and every actor wants to sing. Famous last words, because I’ve never been so nervous in my life,” Norris admitted.
