Headlining Coachella comes with a major paycheck.
Over the years, reports have offered a look at how much some of the festival’s biggest performers earn, with top-billed artists consistently landing multi-million-dollar deals for the two-weekend event in Indio, California.
Here’s how much several Coachella headliners have reportedly been paid:
Justin Bieber
Justin Bieber reportedly earned $10 million for his 2026 Coachella performances, according to Rolling Stone.
The reported total breaks down to $5 million per weekend, as the festival takes place across two weekends.
Bieber’s earnings, which he reportedly negotiated himself and without an agent, land him on top of the list of highest-paid headliners in the festival’s nearly 30-year history.
Beyoncé
According to People, Beyoncé was paid $8 million total ($4 million for each weekend) for her 2018 headlining performance, widely known as “Beychella.” Beyoncé is the first Black woman to ever headline the festival.
Ariana Grande
Ariana Grande was also paid $8 million for headlining Coachella in 2019, according to People. At the time, she was the youngest artist (25 years old) to have ever headlined the festival.
The Weeknd
The Weeknd is said to have made about $8.5 million when he headlined the festival in 2018, according to Page Six. The “Blinding Lights” singer replaced Kanye West on the lineup and reportedly threatened to pull out of his performance if he wasn’t paid the same as Ye.
Tyler, the Creator
Tyler, the Creator was estimated to have earned “eight figures” for his Coachella performances in 2024. That’s according to his song, “THAT GUY,” where he says, “What that Coachella pay like? It was eight figures.”
Kendrick Lamar
According to The New Yorker, Kendrick Lamar was paid between $3 million and $4 million for headlining Coachella in 2017.
Radiohead
Radiohead were also paid between $3 million and $4 million for the 2017 festival, The New Yorker reported.
Paul McCartney
Just Jared reports that Paul McCartney was paid $4 million for headlining Coachella in 2009.
Prince
Prince was reportedly paid $5 million to headline Coachella in 2008 after being a late-addition to the lineup during the festival’s second weekend.
“I’ve never added a band at the last minute, but I really, really wanted him. I had paid him the most money to play Coachella to that date. It didn’t really work out financially,” Paul Tollett, Coachella co-founder and president of Goldenvoice Productions, told the Los Angeles Times in 2019. “I didn’t care. It was so good. It was so worth it. You remember those moments, how great it was.”
