“The Blind Side” star Quinton Aaron, who portrayed athlete Michael Oher in the 2009 Oscar-nominated film, was recently hospitalized after a health crisis. Now, his family has revealed their desire for his wife, Margarita Aaron, to be investigated.
Quinton Aaron’s Family Issues New Statement
Aaron suffered a spinal stroke, and his condition was first reported by TMZ on January 29. At the time, his family offered a hopeful statement, informing the outlet that he had been “alert, aware, and recovering.” However, the situation has become much more complex. On Tuesday, February 3, the family issued a new statement, this time focusing on Margarita.
“Since the health crisis of our beloved family member, Quinton Aaron, we have raised some suspicions about the legitimacy of Quinton and Margarita’s marriage to each other. As well as her legitimacy as a registered nurse,” the Aaron family said in a statement to Us Weekly. “We have found some alarming details.”
They continued, “We as a family believe Margarita isn’t who she claimed to be to us. This has caused us to want to investigate her further.”
Margarita Aaron Responds to Claims About Her Marriage
The actor’s cousin, Asia, revealed that the family had discovered Margarita was already married. She has been married for 34 years, Asia claims, Us Weekly reports. This means that Margarita’s marriage to Quinton is not legally binding.
Quinton’s brother, Jarred Aaron, also expressed concern in an interview with TMZ, telling the outlet he was concerned that Margarita would make “crucial and life-saving medical decisions” about his brother. He added, “I genuinely fear for my brother’s life.”
Margarita responded to the claims, stating that she and Quinton “got spiritually married,” TMZ reports. She also said she does not have power of attorney nor has she made any medical decisions on Quinton’s behalf, TMZ reports. Margarita also reacted to Jarred’s claims, saying, “If he’s saying I’m such a bad person, why does he live with me and Quinton?”
The Aaron Family’s Initial Statement
At the time of Quinton’s initial hospitalisation, the family released a statement about his condition. “We acknowledge that you’ve heard about Quinton Aaron’s condition,” they said, TMZ reports. “We appreciate the overwhelming love, support, and prayers that Quinton has received over the past few days from his fans, the public, and our concerned community.”
They continued, “He is alert, aware and recovering. The Aaron family has a lot to deal with for the betterment of their loved one, but will be sure to keep everyone posted regarding Quinton’s health as we see fit.”
