Nancy Guthrie Disappearance: Former FBI Says Public Will Be ‘Underwhelmed’ When Suspect Is Captured

Former FBI special agent Robin Dreeke sat down for an interview with Tony Brueski on the “Hidden Killers” podcast to discuss the latest in the Nancy Guthrie disappearance. Dreeke revealed his thoughts on Guthrie’s abductor.

Former FBI Agent Reveals Why the Public Will Be ‘Underwhelmed’ by an Arrest

The Pima County Sheriff’s Department, along with the FBI’s Phoenix division, is searching for a masked, armed individual who was seen tampering with Guthrie’s front doorbell camera on the night of her disappearance.

The footage was released to the public, from whom investigators are asking for help, after being uncovered days after Guthrie was reported missing.

Dreeke, who has not worked on the Nancy Guthrie case, claimed, “When they do catch this individual, I think people are going to be underwhelmed with who this is,” according to Daily Express U.S.

“We see this word ‘targeted’ in a fictional, targeted way,” he continued. “Everything we see in law enforcement is reality, we expect different things to happen because we have the grandiosity from TV shows.”

Dreeke added, “That’s why I think we’re going to be underwhelmed. ‘Targeted’ means a lot of different things. It’s a key word. It’s a hot word.”

Was Nancy Guthrie a Victim of Elder Abuse?

Two retired FBI Agents, Maureen O’Connell and Jim Clemente, floated the idea that Guthrie may have been a victim of elder abuse during an interview with News Nation’s Brian Entin on Sunday, March 7.

” think every single person who had any, even a tangential relationship to Nancy Guthrie, anybody who worked on the house, on the yard, on the pool, anybody who worked in the house, repairing things, delivering things, even driving her in an Uber or Lyft, all of those people should be looked at because that could have been the nexus that allowed them to understand that she was living alone and that she was vulnerable,” Clemente said in a video shared via YouTube.

The 84-year-old has been missing for more than a month after last being seen on January 31 at a family dinner held at her daughter Annie Guthrie’s home. The following day, after friends noticed her absence from her scheduled church service, authorities were alerted to a missing person.

According to Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos, Guthrie was taken from her Tucson, Arizona, home against her will by a masked, armed man in the early morning hours of February 1.

“Today” host Savannah Guthrie has continued to plead for her mother’s safe return, even increasing the reward to $1 million for information leading to her recovery.
