It is now more than two months since the Nancy Guthrie investigation began. The 84-year-old was forcibly taken from her home in Tucson, Arizona in what law enforcement has confirmed they are treating as a kidnapping.
With her friends and family, including journalist and “Today” host Savannah Guthrie, still searching for answers, there appears to have been no breakthrough when it comes to tracking down the suspect or identifying him.
Now, one former prosecutor has argued that the person responsible for taking Nancy Guthrie is likely already known to police and something of a career criminal.
Former Orange County Prosecutor Says Police Likely Know Nancy Guthrie Kidnapper
While appearing on the “Prof Jo Explains” YouTube channel to discuss the world of legal cases, former Orange County prosecutor Matt Murphy was asked about the Nancy Guthrie investigation. In response, he provided information based on his own experience with criminals about the type of suspect that the FBI and Pima County Sheriff’s department will be investigating.
Murphy is convinced that the suspect in this case is someone who is already familiar with the justice system and has likely been arrested before. According to the former prosecutor, he would find it surprising if the Pima County Sheriff’s department were not already aware of the suspect in some form as a repeat offender.
“I will bet my bottom dollar that this guy, whoever he is, turns out to be a known dude in the jail of Pima County,” he told host Jo Potuto. “And I would not be at all surprised … if this guy hasn’t been a frequent flyer and released on some ridiculous social justice program. I would not be at all surprised to see it.”
Nancy Guthrie House Showed ‘No Signs of Assault’
Although law enforcement revealed that blood was found on the front porch of Nancy Guthrie’s home following her disappearance, little has been officially revealed about the state of the rest of her home.
An inside source has recently revealed that the inside of the home was “immaculate” and that there were “no signs of assault” inside the residence. This suggests that there was no struggle inside the home.
“[This] makes sense when you go back to what Savannah Guthrie said, that when her sister and brother-in-law showed up, they weren’t sure what happened,” said News Nation reporter Brian Entin. “She just basically vanished at one point. They even thought maybe an ambulance had taken her away because, you know, there was now, according to the source, nothing inside the house that appeared totally out of the ordinary.”
