GettyMartin’s Reaction to Paltrow & Chalamet’s Kiss
In October 2024,ย photos of Paltrow and Chalamet kissingย in New York City’s Central Park on the set of their new film “Marty Supreme” went viral. In the photos, the pair could be seen sharing a kiss while standing in what appeared to be an alleyway.
In an interview withย The Hollywood Reporter, Paltrow revealed that her two kids, Moses and her daughter Apple Martin, 21, whom she shares withย Coldplayย frontmanย Chris Martin, had some mixed reactions to seeing her lock lips with the actor, 29.
“Youโve said your Mom text chats were blowing up when some on-set shots of you and Timothรฉe kissing surfaced online last fall,” the interviewer began.
“Blowing up.ย Blowโingโup!ย I have my L.A. mom close friends and my English mummy friends, and they were all texting me. They know I donโt look at any rubbish sites, so theyโre all sending me these pictures, like, โYessss, G.P.!โ Everyone wasย thrilled,” Paltrow replied.
When asked how her children reacted, however, she answered, “I mean, my daughterโs so cool and so punk rock that sheโs like, ‘Mom, this is awesome!’ And my son was like, ‘Oh my God, I donโt want to see this.’ He was kind of mortified. But I do think theyโre actually excited to see this film because now theyโre grown up and they can make this separation. Iโm sure theyโll gag when Iโm having a make-out scene, of course. But itโs funny, they havenโt really seen me in movies. Historically, they like me home, as Mom, and they donโt like to engage with the outside perspective of who I am.”
Inside Josh Safdie’s Newest Ping-Pong Film
“Marty Supreme,” directed by Josh Safdie, sees Paltrow playing the character of Kay Stone, a retired actress and socialite who becomes the love interest of Marty Mauser (Chalamet).
The film follows Chalamet as Marty, a character that is loosely based on the life of U.S. ping-pong star Marty Reisman, as he sets out to become a worldwide sensation in table tennis and risks it all in the process.ย
From the same interview with The Hollywood Reporter, the interviewer said to Paltrow, “in 2020, you were asked if you ever felt like the acting bug might come back, to which you said: โLiterally never.ย Nevโer.โ So, what changed?”
The actress replied that her decision had more to do with her four children leaving, which made her question her “purpose.” She wondered to herself, “Where do I want to live? Who am I?”
In addition, Paltrow’s brother, Jake, whoโs a filmmaker, said to her, “you are doing this,” when he found out that it was Josh Safdie who asked her to be in his film.
