Jonathan Bailey is at the top of his game as an actor. Not only is “Bridgerton” returning to Netflix for its fourth season, but he’s also starring in what is sure to be one of the biggest films of the year, “Wicked: For Good.” Now, the beloved actor is opening up about one day becoming a father.

Bailey spoke to Esquire UK in November about “Wicked: For Good” and also discussed a few personal details of his life. When asked if he’s ever considered having kids, he said, “Thereโs obviously loads of kids that could really benefit from love and support.”
He continued, “I have the absolute privilege of being a gay man โ thereโs no biological clock. Itโs such a privilege, isnโt it, to even be able to have a kid? So, Iโm aware of it as an idea, as a concept, but it doesnโt feel very loud in my head at the moment.”
Bailey Made Previous Comments About Becoming a Father
The interview with Esquire UK isn’t the only recent interview in which Bailey discussed becoming a father. The now-deemed Sexiest Man Alive also opened up to PEOPLE in a November 4 interview.
He said of potentially becoming a father, “Yeah. If the planets align, for sure. I feel like in the world that we live in now, everyoneโs going to need a bit of guidance.”
Bailey added, “Although Iโd be terrible at getting them through university. And they would not be able to speak another language. But maybe they will, and thatโs how Iโll learn.” Bailey is currently dating but has kept the identity of his partner a secret.
He’s a Busy Man These Days
Bailey seems like someone who will make a great father someday. However, for now, he’s focusing on balancing his career and private life. His upcoming film, “Wicked: For Good,” is set to release in movie theaters on November 21.
The social media review embargo for the film has been lifted. One reviewer said, “Cynthia Erivo and Ariana Grande once again prove theyโre a match made in heaven in #WickedForGood. Their performances shine brightly and carry the film with heart. However, many of the supporting characters feel underused, especially Jonathan Baileyโs Fiyero.”
The review continued, “While the movie is still an overall success, it could have benefited from a longer runtime to let its story and characters breathe. AND โNo Good Deedโ gave me genuine goosebumps.”
Bailey’s other upcoming project, “Bridgerton” season four, is set to arrive on Netflix on January 29, 2026. The second part of the season will be released on February 26.
