Arizona Sheriff & FBI Respond To New Claim Of Burglary-Gone-Wrong in Nancy Guthrie Case

The search for Nancy Guthrie is entering its third week, with new information continuing to come out. And with that, there was a new report released by the Arizona Family on Sunday, Feb. 15, in which a source says that investigators are looking into whether her disappearance was a burglary that went wrong.

However, Pima County Sheriff Chris Nanos has responded to this, clearing things up.

โ€œDid not come from us. No idea, and even though that is one of many possibilities, we would never speculate such a thing. We will let the evidence take us to motive,” Nanos told Fox News’ Matt Finn.

The FBI also provided a comment to Finn, saying that they have “no clue where that came from.”

Fox News’ Michael Ruiz added that a local law enforcement official said, “this is not the working theory inside the unit.”

Savannah Guthrie Shares New Video

In a video posted on February 15, the beloved “Today” anchor spoke out, pleading for her mother’s safe return.

โ€œI wanted to come on and, um, itโ€™s been two weeks since our mom was taken, and I just wanted to come on and say that, um, we still have hope, and we still believe,โ€ Savannah said.

โ€œAnd I wanted to say to whoever has her or knows where she is that itโ€™s never too late and youโ€™re not lost or alone and it is never too late to do the right thing,โ€ she added. โ€œAnd we are here, and we believe, and we believe in the essential goodness of every human being, and itโ€™s never too late.โ€

Many left comments under the video, showing their support.

“We believe and we are with you, your family and most of all, Nancy,” Al Roker posted.

“You and your family are being held up with love supported with love guided with hope,” Maria Shriver said.

“We are with you in this valleyย @savannahguthrieย ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพ๐Ÿ™๐Ÿพโค๏ธโค๏ธ,” ABC News’ Deborah Roberts commented.

Glove Recovered Near Crime Scene Match Those Worn by Suspect on Video

Anย FBI spokespersonย told Fox Newsย that โ€œa glove with a DNA profile recovered in the Nancy Guthrie case is different from other gloves that have been found and appears to match the gloves of the subject seen in the surveillance video.โ€

According to the outlet,ย authorities foundย approximately 16 gloves during their search. Still, the spokesperson said, โ€œmost of them were searchersโ€™ gloves that they discarded in various areas when they searched the vicinity.โ€

โ€œThe one with the DNA profile recovered is different and appears to match the gloves of the subject in the surveillance video,โ€ the spokesperson added.
