Shamari DeVoe, who is a former member of the beloved R&B group Blaque, joined “The Real Housewives of Atlanta” for its 11th season in 2018. However, she opted to leave after only one season. Now, years later, the “808” singer has graduated from nursing school with a master’s degree. This development has led many fans to wonder if she could potentially join Bravo’s “Married to Medicine” cast.
DeVoe announced the news of her graduation from nursing school in August 2026. She said on Instagram, “NURSE in the air. MSN behind my name. 2026 on the tassel. Yeahhhh, God did His BIG one.”
The post included several photos celebrating the milestone. The first featured the RHOA alum wearing nursing scrubs as she was surrounded by various pieces of medical equipment. Next, there is another photo of DeVoe. This time, it has cards with different messages floating around her, including phrases like “the world needs more nurses,” “mission accomplished,” and “mastered it.”

The former “Real Housewives of Atlanta” star later took to Instagram to share more photos celebrating her graduation. She said, “Hey reflection… look at what we did. 🪞🎓 PINNED. HOODED. MASTERED. Shamari DeVoe, MSN.”
Regarding the photos, the first features DeVoe wearing nursing scrubs while a reflection wears a graduation gown. They’re also holding her diploma in the picture. After that, there are more images of the singer.
DeVoe first announced her nursing school plans in January of this year, revealing the news on social media. She captioned a video, “Not just starting a job, I’m building a legacy. First day of externship. Summer 2026 MSN on the way. 🚀🩺 #DeVoeTed #ShamariDeVoe #MSNLoading.”
She said in the clip, “I am going to my first day of orientation. I feel really great. Things are looking up. Got a job at the hospital as a nurse extern.”

DeVoe, who is married to R&B legend Ronnie DeVoe, doesn’t often speak about her time on “The Real Housewives of Atlanta.” However, the singer previously spoke to The Jasmine Brand, saying much of her reasoning for leaving had to do with how she was portrayed on the show.
She said, “There’s a lot in editing, so they make you look like something that you’re not. So there was a scene that I did during [RHOA] that was about couples and learning different tools and skills to keep your relationship going. And they cut that whole scene out. But they wanted to show me with my lil wine and make it seem like I’m just this drunk or whatever.”
She went on to note that there were several other positive scenes that were filmed but never made it onto the show. In explaining her drinking on RHOA, DeVoe stated, “and the thing about [me drinking on camera is] I hadn’t drank in like two years because I was pregnant with the boys, I was breastfeeding.”
The former RHOA star added, “But I love all of the ladies on the show, and I love them, and I wish them well. And I’m not saying I would never go back to [RHOA] or anything like that, but it just has to be right for me and my family… [The editing] got to the point where my mother was saying, ‘Shamari, [why] are you drinking so much? Are you an alcoholic?'”
