Taylor Swift announced her 12th studio album, “The Life of a Showgirl,” on August 12, and the pop star created even more buzz when she invited fans to an in-person, visual experience.

“I hereby invite you to a *dazzling* soirรฉe, The Official Release Party of a Showgirl: Oct 3 – Oct 5 only in cinemas!” she posted on September 19.

Swift added, “Youโ€™ll get to see the exclusive world premiere of the music video for my new single The Fate of Ophelia,’ along with never before seen behind-the-scenes footage of how we made it, cut by cut explanations of what inspired this music, and the brand new lyric videos from my new album The Life of a Showgirl.”

Swiftโ€™s โ€˜Release Party of a Showgirl Was a Box Office Hit

Swift’s October 3-5 showing of “Release Party of a Showgirl” smashed the box office with $33 million in ticket sales, Variety reported.

The 89-minute show featured a behind-the-scenes look at the making of “The Life of a Showgirl,” as well as the debut of the music video for “The Fate of Ophelia.”

To be on-theme with her 12th album, Swift set the ticket prices for $12 all across the nation in AMC theaters.


Swift Shares a Glimpse Into Her Writing Process For ‘The Life of a Showgirl’

On October 6, Swift shared intimate moments of the writing process behind “The Life of a Showgirl” on Instagram. In the first picture, she’s seen standing by a piano, looking at her phone while co-producer Max Martin plays.

Another snap shows Swift playing and singing, while Martin seemingly shares his ideas. The third picture shows Swift goofing around with Martin and co-producer Shellback, while the last shot shows Swift looking thoughtfully at the camera while Shellback is in the background strumming a guitar.

“Being in the studio and creating these songs was an unforgettable experience, but luckily I donโ€™t ever have to forget it because I was recording while we were writing – and now itโ€™s a way to look back on the process and give you guys a glimpse into how we wrote these songs, and hear the moments we thought of these ideas in real time,” the “Actually Romantic” singer wrote.
