Hannah Brown Undergoes Surgery a Year After Being Diagnosed With Rare Condition

Almost a year ago, former “Bachelorette” and “Dancing With the Stars” champ Hannah Brown opened up about being diagnosed with a double uterus. The rare condition, per the Cleveland Clinic, only affects about 0.3% of the population and can cause pregnancy complications and painful menstruation.

Since the diagnosis, however, Brown has kept a busy schedule. In July 2025, Brown tied the knot with her longtime partner Adam Woolard, and, in June 2026, she released her third novel, “Reasons to Be Loved by You.”

After pushing surgery for her health condition for a while, however, Brown just underwent surgery and is doing just fine.

On her Instagram Stories, Brown, wearing a hospital gown and a ponytail, shared with fans that she was headed into surgery.

“Today’s the day!” she wrote alongside a selfie of hers. “Having my septum removed in my uterus! I’ve been putting this off for a while, but it’s the first step in family planning for us!”

In another video, Brown was seen chatting with some of the nursing staff. “Time to get some good sleep,” she wrote on top.

“And I’m off!” she wrote in the last video. “So thankful for the amazing team that has taken care of me today.”

Woolard, for his part, gave fans an update a few hours later. “Sweetie pie out of surgery and doing great,” she wrote about his wife.

Hannah Brown’s Double Uterus Diagnosis

Brown first opened up about her rare diagnosis in a May 6, 2025 episode of the “Heal Squad” podcast.

In the chat, she revealed not only the diagnosis, but that surgery would need to happen to separate her uteruses to make them viable for pregnancy.

“There’s some risk in whatever may be there when I’m ready to have children,” Brown revealed, adding that she hadn’t done “exploratory surgery” yet. “It looks like they’re attached in some way, it’s just, like, almost split.”

“She’s going to have to figure out, ‘Is one bigger than the other? Can it, like, hold a baby? Which one is better?’ It’s a whole thing,” she said at the time. “There’s been so much going on. I was like, ‘I need to put that on a shelf. I don’t need to be stressing about that right now.”

“I’m like, ‘OK, I’m getting married this year, I will get right on that right after,'” Brown explained. “It can definitely complicate things because can the size of the uterus hold a baby? Is one better than the other? But there have been cases of people having double uteruses and having babies and being perfectly fine.”

“It was definitely a shock,” she said. “But to have the knowledge of ‘Hey, this is something that you’re going to want to take care of when you’re ready for that time’ was helpful.”

At the time, she also admitted to not being fully convinced she wanted to be a mom. “I go back and forth,” she said, per People.

“I definitely think I would love to have a child, and I don’t want to miss out on that experience,” she said. “But I haven’t been quite ready yet, which I think makes sense. I want to get married first. I want to be able to do that.” 

“I’ve never been to just like, just waiting, waiting, waiting for that to happen,” she noted. “But I do think I’m going to want to have that experience, when it’s time.” Now that her surgery was successful, it seems her body would be finally ready if she and Woolard wanted to take that step.
